A Study on the Abolishment of Death Penalty in China

废除中国死刑制度应成为我们的行动目标。废除中国死刑制度首先要解决两大观念障碍:“杀人偿命”的死刑伦理和“阶级斗争”的政治思维。破解这两大观念障碍的方法在于人道主义和人权理念的强调和提倡。

With the development of human society, the abolishment of death penalty has been a trend in theworldwide reformation of criminal policy and criminal punishment. This means that the death penalty has ap-proached to its end. The abolishment of death penalty as a current issue in China has been the goal of action.However, there are two conceptual barriers in the abolishment: the ethical basis as ' a murderer must pay hislife'; the political framework as 'class struggle'. It is proposed that the advocation and enforcement of hum-anitarianism and the idea of human rights are the two ways to clearify the barriers.
