This paper introduces some ideas about how CAI courseware can be combined with web techniques and proposes a complete design scheme of web-based teaching system which consists of shared courses subsystem, on-line teaching subsystem, off-line teaching subsystem, subsystem of distance instructions and system of distance supervision. This paper summarizes our experience of carrying out web-based surgery teaching.
