摘要
本文分析了连续出版物的“连续性”属性及其生成机制。serial对periodi-cal的名称取代是其形成活动的思想观念的基础。文献编目是连续出版物形成活动的主要领域。连续出版物的形成对改进图书馆的文献工作有着积极意义,但尚不能引起高层次服务工作组织方式的根本性变革。
The characteristics of serials-continuity and their formation mechanism are analyzed.The replacement of the name 'serial' for 'periodical'is the ideological foundation of the formation and the document cataloguing is the main sphere of this formation. The formation of serials makes positive effects on improving document work in libraries,but does not result in the foundamental revolution in the management model of high level services.
