试论近代四川中小城市发展缓慢之原因

Reasons for Slow Development of the Medium-size and Small-size Cities in Modern Sichuan

中小城市是城市研究的薄弱环节。近代四川中小城市虽有所发展,但由于其自身和区域条件的限制,致使其发展速度很低,不仅远远低于沿海地区,而且与四川的大城市——重庆间的差距也愈来愈大,为当代四川畸形的城市等级格局埋下了伏笔。

The study on the medium-size and small-size cities is the bottleneck in the research of cities. In the modern times, the M-S cities in Sichuan has developed to some extent. But due to the restriction of themselves and to the regional conditions, the development is relatively slow comparing with the coastal areas and the gap between them and the large-scale city of Chongqing widens, which results in the malformed distribution pattern of cities in Sichuan today.
