从辛格与犹太文化传统的渊源出发 ,对辛格小说的源流与特色、主题与主题模式、叙述手法、人物塑造等作了较为全面的考察和论述。同时强调指出 :辛格的小说看似平实、简单 ,但其中大多具有一种强烈的民族文化身份意识 ,含有一些深深积淀在犹太文化传统中的东西。这些东西不仅能激发犹太民族读者的心灵感应 ,而且可以在世界上许多民族的读者的意识中引起反响与共鸣。

From the perspective of the relationship between Singer and Jewish cultural tradition,this paper attempts to make a comprehensive observation of and expositions on the origin, themes and thematic patterns,narrative techniques as well as the characterization of Singer′s fiction.The paper also puts forward the idea that most of his seemingly simple novels and stories have a strong sense of national culture and identity, which not only touches the heart strings of readers of Jewish background but also gets sympathetic echoes from those of other nationalities.
