On the Strategic Use of Parallel Imports by Manufacturer

摘要 本文建立了一个由两个国家和两个厂商组成的经济学模型,两个厂商 都在同一国家销售一种同质产品,其中一个公司还通过一个零售商在另一个国家销 售其产品,我们发现,在两个国家进行销售的那个公司有时会倾向于引入平行进口 来与另外一个公司竞争。这与原生产厂商反对平行进口的理论形成了鲜明的对比。 In this paper, we develop a two- country and two- firm model where these two firms produce and sell a kind of homogenous product in one country, one of these two firms also sells its product to another country through a distributor. We find that the firm who sells its product in two countries may hope to compete with the other firm by means of permitting parallel imports.
