Fate of Patriarchal Clans in the Change of Village Governing——Based on Four Villages in Nanyang Mountain Area as Study Cases

对于当前宗族的影响力状况, 学术界有“复兴”论和“衰落”论两种不同看法。对南阳山区四个村庄的调查情况显示, 该地区的宗族认同感尚存并能发挥一定的凝聚功能, 但其影响力极其有限。所谓的宗族的“复兴”应该只是物质层面的宗族即宗族形式的复兴, “衰落”却是精神层面的宗族即宗族内核的衰落。

Concerning the influences of the current patriarchal clans,there are two different point of views in the academic circles:a revival view and a decline one.Studies on Nanyang Mountain Area show that clansman’s recognition of patriarchal clans still exists and has a certain cohesive force but its influence is rather limited.The so-call“revival”is just revival of clans at the material level,or revival of the form of clans;while the“decline”is decline of clans at the spiritual level,or decline of the core of clans.
