Study on the Tsiang T'ing-fu's Diplomatic Thoughts

蒋廷黻是著名的外交家和外交史学家,但对他的外交思想,迄今尚无比较深入系统的研究。文章通过初步探究,基本弄清了蒋廷黻外交思想的核心理念,及其在对待“东北问题”、中英关系、中日关系和中俄关系等一系列重大问题上的体现。蒋廷黻熟谙欧亚历史,胸罗国际局势,对帝国主义、民族主义独具特识,故其外交思想以知己知彼。

Tsiang T'ing-fu was a famous diplomat as well as a distinguished historian of international relations in modern China, but there is a lack of systemic research on his diplomatic thoughts up to now. The essential ideas of Tsiang T'ing-fu's diplomatic thought and its reflection on some significant questions are expatiated clearly in this paper, such as the Manchuria Problem, the Sino-England relations, the Sino-Japanese relations and the Sino-Russian relations. Tsiang T'ing-fu not only studied sufficiently about Asian and Europe history which gave him the views of global situations, but also comprehended the imperialism and nationalism sagaciously and specially, which was the essence of Tsiang T'ing-fu diplomatic thought that was knowing each other and benefiting from each other by cooperation.
