On the Qualities and Tasks of Our Country's Public Security Prisons and Other Places of Custody

公安监所是指我国公安机关依法设置并管辖的有关刑事羁押、特定刑罚、行政处罚和行政强制措施的执行机关。公安监所是我国公安机关的重要组成部分,是国家的刑事、行政执法机关。其任务是:有效监管,保证羁押、刑罚、处罚和强制措施执行的运作,提高执法效益;严格管理,建立良好的监管秩序,保证监所安全;对被监管人进行教育、改造和矫正;打击、制裁犯罪,预防和减少违法犯罪。

Public security prisons and other places of custody refer to the enforcement organization of criminal custody, particular criminal penalty, administrative penalty and administrative coercive measure, which is set up and managed by our country's public security organization. It is the important part of our country's public security organization, the criminal and administrative organization for law enforcement. Its tasks are: supervise and control effectively; guarantee the enforcement of custody, criminal penalty, punishment and coercive measure; improve the effect of law enforcement; administrate strictly; establish good custody order and guarantee custody safety; educate, reform and supervise offenders; crack down and punish crimes, prevent and decrease offences.
