盐谷温论《红楼梦》——兼议鲁迅“抄袭”盐谷温之公案

早在上个世纪20年代,陈源所谓“鲁迅之小说史是抄袭盐谷温的”说法,曾在学界引起 公愤。然义愤代替不了科学研究。时至今日,我们既不可轻信鲁迅“抄袭”之言,也不可抹杀盐谷 温的红学观及其《中国小说史略》的巨大贡献,以及他对鲁迅乃至80年以来中国小说研究的深刻 影响。由此公案,更能获得有关学术规范的深刻教训。

As early as the 1920s, the assertion that LU Xun plagiarized a lot from Shiotani in his A Brief History of Chinese Fiction stirred up considerable academic indignation. However, indignation should not surrogate scientific research. Up to the present day we have yet to refute the assertion while remaining doubtful of its validity. But the fact of the matter is that Shiotani's research on Dream of Red Mansions exerts a profound influence on LU Xun's research on the history of Chinese fiction. From this case, we can draw a considerably dour lesson about the research norms that should be observed.
