Characteristics of Chinese Modern Intellectual Poetry: On Bian Zhin-lin's Acceptance and Variance of Symbolism

This article deals with Bian Zhilin's variance of symbolism when he accepts it. Absorbing the poetics of Paul Valery and T.S. Eliot, combined with his unique and profound aesthetic experience, Bian Zhilin uses ordinary images to coagulate philosophic thoughts, searches the beauty of poetry in intellectuality, and shows his creation and oriental wisdom. Bian's choices and variance of modern western symbolist poetry, not only develop the field of Chinese new poetry, promote its rational level, but also provide experience for the development of Chinese new poetry.
