With the coming of the information economy times, in order to meet the constantly-changing market demand and the strong market competititiveness, the organization form of enterprises will face great change. The virtual enterprise as the new enterprise organization form comes into being. This paper analyses the economic reasons for the birth of the virtual enterprise and demonstrates its unique characteristics and puts forward many enlightenments of the successful operation of the foreign virtual enterprises on the improvement of competitiveness of our enterprises.
