艺术完整律与格里耶的“空缺”论

The Artistic Integrity Law and Robbe-Grillet's "Manque" Theory

格里耶认为,新小说是不完整的小说,具有时间安排上的瞬间性、事理反映上的本真性、体系结构上的破碎性,因而与传统小说所具有的时间安排上的连续性、事理反映上的矛盾性、体系结构上的严密性相对立。但"空缺"论不可能否定艺术完整律。格里耶自身的创作,也在遵循着艺术完整律。"空缺"论的功绩,在于概括了新小说派的主要特征,丰富了小说创作理论,因而具有一定的美学价值。

Robbe-Grillet thinks that the new novel is incomplete, with the features of instantaneity of time, truthfulness of fact reflection and brokenness of system. So it is just the opposite of the traditional novel, with the characteristics of continuity of time, contradiction of fact reflection and strictness of system. But 'manque' theory cannot negate the artistic integrity law which Robbe-Grillet's creation also follows. The merit of 'manque' theory lies in its generalization of main features of the new novel group and enrichment of fictional creation theory, hence certain aesthetic values.
