Reexplaining "Singing with Beating Basin" by Zhuangzi

庄子"鼓盆而歌"的故事,向来被认为是庄子表现自己对死采取的一种旷达的态度。本文根据文献中对南方少数民族民间习俗"娱死"丧葬仪式的大量记载,探明庄子承受的文化渊源,而认为他的"鼓盆而歌",只不过是当时民间习俗"唱斋""娱死"这种丧葬仪式的表现。

Zhuangzi's 'singing with beating basin ' be considered a broad mind of Zhuangzi confronting the death .After researching a large number records of funeral ceremony of 'amusing the dead ' from minority nationalities' folk convention in southwest of China and cultural tradition Zhuangzi had inherted, this thesis deem that Zhuangzi's ' Singing with beating basin' was a folk convention's show of amusing the dead's funeral ceremony then.
