This paper presents an in-depth exploration and a pretty elaboration on the expression of synecdoche and its epistemological value by introducing a clear-cut distinction between synecdoche and metonymy. As a widely-used rhetorical from with its tremendous language charm,synecdoche is qualified enough to secure its significant role and meticulous analysis. In the meantime, the understanding and utilization of synecdoche calls for a better strength during the course of language teaching, thereby to obtain a more appropriate rhetorical effect.
