The Reasons about the Development of Higher Education in Australia from 1945 to 1973

1945-1973年期间澳大利亚高等教育获得快速发展,其原因主要有几个方面:一是社会经济发展的需要;二是世界科技革命的冲击;三是全社会对高等教育价值的认识和肯定;四是澳大利亚各级政府的大力支持。但同时也存在一些问题,诸如政府对高等教育发展缺乏长期的整体规划,教育机会不均等。

The higher education in Australia has developed quickly. This paper discusses many reasons resulting in the development of higher education: the demand of social and economic development, the impact of scientific and technological revolution, the acquaintance of educational importance and the support of government. Inevitably, there exist several problems in the development of higher education.
