The Development and Characteristics of the Education for Senior Citizens in China

摘要 随着人口老龄化的加剧,老年教育越来越成为世界共同关注的课题。运用教育社会学研究教育发展的两个维度:数量、质量维度对 20世纪 80年代以来我国老年教育的发展进行梳理和描述,得出我国老年教育发展的特征和趋势为:办学由群众行为向政府行为转化;老年教育由大中城市向农村延伸;课程由颐养娱乐型向应用技能型和自我发展型扩展;教育形式和教育手段将呈现多样化,不断引进新技术和新观念。 With the aggravation of aged population, education for senior citizens is becoming the subject to which the whole world is paying close attention. It is very important and necessary to describe and clear up the development of the education for senior citizens in China from two education-sociological angles, namely, quantity and quality. That is the basis for the research of education for old people. As is pointed out by the paper, the characteristics and trend of the education of the old people in China are as follows: first, unlike the situation in the past when the education for old people was mainly run by masses, the education for old people now is in the main run by the government; second, the education for old people is expanding from large and medium-sized cities to rural areas; thirdly, the courses are moving from entertaining type towards types for practical application and self-development; fourthly, the forms and means of education for old people are diversified as the result of constant introduction of new technologies and ideas.
