“口”、“嘴”辨析

“口”、“嘴”不能简单地看作是同义词,二者都具有多个义项。在不同的义项上具有各自独立的语用,不能互换。在相同的义项上,也表现出语用上的明显差异,体现了两个词在感情色彩、构词能力、使用范围等方面的差别。

kou” and “zui” are exact correspondents in meaning as generally believed. The two words both have several senses, which results in their differences in usage. Even used in the same sense, they differ from one anther in the respect of emotional color and the ability of word-building, which explains the different roles taken by the two words in the language system.
