Special Features and Underlying Lexicographical Principles of the Dictionaries of Translatology

本文依据词典类型学研究新成果,论证了翻译学词典在词典谱系中的位置,指出翻译学词典是一种有层次地收录翻译领域的概念、术语和专名,成系统地反映翻译领域的知识概要的专科词典。文章认为,翻译学词典的质的规定性来源于释义,做好释义工作是翻译学词典编纂中的重中之重,释义工作应遵循专业性、准确性、描写性等原则。

Typologically, a dictionary of translatology belongs with the genre of specialized scholarly dictionaries and it is hence charged with a two-fold task: first, to provide a systematically organized and hierarchically arranged list of concepts, terms, and proper names circulating in the field; secondly, to offer an adequate definition for each entry. Of the two, the latter is by far the more significant and the more challenging. To discharge this task, abiding by lexicographical principles such as professionalism, precision, and descriptivity is essential.
