N,N,N ̄Ⅰ,N ̄Ⅱ,N ̄Ⅱ-diethylenetriaminepentakis (methylenephosphonic acid), DETPMPO,wassynthesized and characterlzed by element analysis and IR spectra, In the optimal conditions,the reactionof DETPWOwith copper(Ⅱ)forms a stable blue complex with a molar absorptivity of 3. 82×10 ̄3L·mol ̄(-1)·cm ̄(-1)at 309.9nm。The composition of the complex is 1:1,and the concentration of copper(Ⅱ)obeys the Beer's law from 3.81μg·mL ̄(-1)to 19.05μg·mL ̄(-1).The methed is successsfully used inthe determination of copper(Ⅱ)in the anolyte of elcctrolytric nickel of Jingchuan Co.
