The parameters in Poisson-Gumbel compound extreme distribution are estimated from common methods and compared. The results show that among them the moment method is better. This method, however, is not very perfect, an improved method, the compound moment approach is presented. Actual examples indicate that the presented approach is better than those mentioned above.
