摘要
海洋地质学既是海洋学，也是地质学的分支学科。自1960年建系以来，围绕着国家经济发展的需要，结合生产建设和资源调查开展了科学研究工作，取得了一些成果。
The scientific research program in our Department has being developed corresponding the demands of the economical development of our country, the survey for the resources and production construction since this department was founded.About 20 projects on coastal and marine surveys have been completed,providing important basic data and material of geology, geomorpholo-gy, hydrography, geotechnical engineering for coast,bay and port construction and offshore engineering. This kind of practical work promotes the development of those disciplines such as the coastal dynamic geo-morphology, marine sedimentology, offshore geotechnical engineering, shallow-strata seismic explorating as well as the methods used in the work.There has been carried out certain research program on geotechtonics in Bohai Sea and the relationship of Tan-Lu fracture zone in Bohai Sea with oil and gas deposits.The re is some study on the system and characteristics of fracture zone in Bohai Basin, the control effect of fracture zone on the sediment basin, the characteristics and history of Tan-Lu fracture zone in Bohai Sea and Yi-Shu fracture zone.A new understanding of the polecircle development of geotectonics in China is suggested.Over 20 years the scientific research has being combined with both the apply and basic research. The apply research promotes the basic one. The research work is mainly concentrated on marine projects which extend from coastal zone to the continental shelves. And we also do some research of geology on land.In the future both the research of sediment environment and sediment dynamics in coastal zone and shelves,and the research of geotectonic feature of Eastern China and its adjacent shelf areas will be our two main research directions. More systematic, organized and deeper than even before work will be carried out to raise our scientific level, and give more contributions to the four modernizations of our country.
