摘要
Fracture structure,so-called in this article, refers to the appearance that neighbouring parts of a geological body, under the actien of tectonic stress, get into separating along breaking faces, that is, the macroscopic fracture structure of fault, joint and cleavage used in general sense in the structural geology, The fracture structure is expounded in the article from the following three aspects. (1) The mechanism of its extension, (2) The form and character of its extension and (3) Distinguishing the tendency of its extension. Under theaction of later tectonic stress, Stress concentration will take place at the ending parts of earlier exis fracture, so the fracture here will extend and stretch outward according to the law of rupture in mechanics. In general circumstance the later extended fracture differs from the earlier existed fracture in direction and presents zigzaged spread pattern. Discriminating the difference and understanding the mechanism of its formation are very important in reality for studying thoroughly the characterestics of fracture and reinstating the tectonic stress field.
