目前学术界对清代著名书坊扫叶山房的创始年代有着不同的说法,其中主要代表有明万历说和明季说等。本文通过对各说的辨析,并考察扫叶山房主人洞庭席氏相关人物的情况,以及席氏购藏汲古阁《十七史》书版的经过,从而确定清乾隆后期当为扫叶山房真实的创始年代。

This article tries to analyse the different statements about Saoye Publishing House's his- tory,and reach a correct conclusion about its founding time by investigating its master Xi family and the relation between Qiguge's printing plate and Saoye Publishing House.
