It’s an important issue as to how to deal with mutual relations between difference cultures in global context. The famous French scholar Rene Etiemble puts forward some new ideas concerning this problem in his book L’Europe Chanoinse. He holds that the mutual relations between difference cultures are always inequitable. Therefore cultural research must pay great attention to long-term and recessive cultural intercourse.
