中国当代儿童小说自然形成了三个主要发展阶段———二十世纪五六十年代、八十年代、九十年代,每个阶段也分别有各自的阶段性特点和有代表性的作品。50年代至60年代初是当代中国儿童小说的第一个繁荣期,其主要特点是表现集体主义的时代主题。70年代一大批在内容和形式上都令人耳目一新的优秀作品。90年代的儿童小说的创作不再像80年代那么热闹喧哗,而更多地显露出平静状态。这一来受惠于80年代儿童文学观念的重建,二来也表明我们的儿童文学作家走向了艺术成熟。
The formation of Contemporary Chinese children's novel underwent three main stages: 1950s to 1960s, 1980s, and 1990s, each with its own characteristics and representative works. 1950s to 1960s is a prosperous stage when its theme is about collectivism. From the end of 1970s to 1980s is a stage of exploration and active creation when the writers produced a lot of excellent works, new and fresh in both form and contents. In 1990s, the creation was not so lively as that in 1980, but was much quieter, which, on the one hand, is the result of ideaistic reconstruction since 1980s and, on the other hand, it is an expression of artistic maturation of the writers of children's novel.
