The cotton fiber test line technology is described. The HVI unit from Uster Technologies AG and the ART unit from Premier Polytronics Pvt. Ltd are compared. Both companies employ different methods in which the different output parameters of the measurement systems are correlated and evaluated with the aid of software they have developed themselves. Reliable routine measurements of processing properties of cotton are possible with HVI and ART. The measurement accuracy of the two units is comparable.
