A New Analysis Paradigm──Problem-Structuring Methods for Complexity

从运筹学、系统分析、系统工程的实践中发展起来的新分析范式，提供了复杂性结构化的新方法和处理社会系统中复杂的，不确定的，冲突问题的更有效工具、本文比较了新旧分析范式的特点，着重研究了处理现实世界不良结构问题局面的软系统方法（ＳＳＭ），并成功地将ＳＳＭ应用于企业咨询中。

This paper studies the recently developed analysis paradigm in problem-solving, which is different from old paradigm including Operational Research, Systems Analysis and Systems Enginearing, with an intention to provide some new methodologies for structuring complexity. The characteristics of the two paradigms are given. Then, it focuses on Soft System Methodology (SSM), one of the methodologies guiding intervention in real world ill-- structured problematical situations. Finally, an example of the SSM on business consultance is given. The new paradigm is more effective in solving complex, uncertain and conflictual problems in social systems.
