殖民地处境下的华人基督教——以近代东南亚华人社会为例

Christianity of Overseas Chinese under Colonial Government──A Case Study of Overseas Chinese Society in Southeast Asia

本文尝试简略勾勒基督教在近代东南亚华人社会的发展 ,探讨基督教与海外华人民族认同之间的关系。文章认为 :近代东南亚华人基督教发展过程可分为两个阶段 ,其中 ,中国本土社会与殖民统治的变化是影响其发展的两个关键性因素。基督教与海外华人民族认同之间亦非简单的对立关系。在发展过程中 ,东南亚华人基督教拥有西方宗教、移民宗教与海外华人宗教三重身份 ,反映殖民地背景下华人社会的现实处境 ,为华人基督教史研究提供了新的认识。

This Article tried to reconstruct the development of Christianity among modern Chinese in South-East Asia,and explore the relationship between Christianity and ethnical identity of Chinese oversea. The development of Christianity among modern Chinese in SEA can be divided into two stages. The two key factors came from Chinese native society and local colonial regime. It would be not simple contrdication between Christianity and ethnical identity of Chinese oversea It have triple identities as western religion, emigrant religion and religion of Chinese Overesea, which reflect the situation of Chinese society under the colonial government, and give us refreshed knowledge of research on Chinese Christianity.
