Catalytic Synthesis of Ethyl Propionate with P-Toluene Sulfonic Acid

摘要  以丙酸和无水乙醇为原料,对甲苯磺酸作催化剂合成了丙酸乙酯。通过实验得出反应的最佳条件:催化剂用量为1 g(以0 2 mol丙酸为基准),反应时间为2 0 h,物料配比为1:1 5(以丙酸用量为基准)。在此条件下,合成的产品酯化率在90%以上,而且质量稳定。利用折光率、红外光谱分析对产品进行了物性和结构表征,结果表明合成产物与目的产物结构完全吻合。 In the experiment, ethyl propionate was synthesized by reaction of propionic acid with absolute ethyl alcohol in the presence of p-Toluene sulfonic acid. The experimental results showed that the optimum conditions were as follows: the molar ratio of propionic acid to ethanol was 1∶1.5, the weight of catalyst was 1.0 g (the amount of propionic acid was 0.2 mol), and the reaction time was 2.0 h. Under this condition the yield of ethyl propionate was above 90%. The physical properties and the structure of the product were characterized by refractive index and IR.
