Ge Gongzhen is the founder of China's modern journalism, a doer of the cause of journalism, a researcher of China's early journalism, a pioneer of the history of journalism, an advocate of journalist education ,a critic of bourgeois journalistic views, a promoter of journalistic advertisement and a practioner of journalistic professionalization. He made sighificant contrtutions to the development of China's modern joumalism.
