Garden, Landscape and the Future of Chinese Landscape Architecture

通过分析园林、景观、风景园林等几个术语的缘起、演变和优缺点,指出综合性是风景园林学科的突出特性,而中国风景园林有着自己以辩证的综合性思维和实事求是方法为传统的特长。在摆脱封闭守旧文化环境的羁绊和掌握现代科技发展的成果后,中国风景园林必将超越以个人表现和分裂式思维为特征的所谓西方工业时代景观设计,再创辉煌。

By analyzing the origin, evolvement and merit of a few technical terms such as gardens, landscape and landscape architecture, this paper points out that the integration is the outstanding characteristic of landscape architecture. The Chinese landscape architecture has long time traditional special features of its own dialectic integration and practical and realistic methods. By getting away from the conservative and self-enclosed cultureenvironment, and after understanding the modern science and technical development, the Chinese landscapearchitecture will surpass the so-called western industry-age landscape architecture characterized by personal performance and analyzing thought method, then create its own glory again.
