Shen Congwen's book 'The Frontier Town' expresses the way of life which is graceful, healthy, natural and harmonious with human nature. From the book, we can see the life ideal of 'Greek temple' style that the author was after. The ideal is in the expression of externalized life, self-determined sexual love, western Xiang nation's historical reality of hardship and their living crisis.
