阅读能力是人的一种言语能力。它可分为言语表达能力和言语理解能力。阅读能力属言语理解能力范畴,主要由阅读语能、阅读才能、阅读智能和阅读技能四大支柱组成。本文将分别阐述他们在英语阅读理解中的作用。

Reading ability belongs to the linguistic competence of human beings, which can be divided into the abilities of expression and understanding. It is made up of four elements: language foundation, background knowledge, intelligence and skills. This paper expounds respectively their functions in English reading and understanding.
