Factors Account for the Peculiar Style of Qing Feng in The Book of Songs

《秦风》以其悲凉、凝重的风格独立于十五国风之中。这种风格的形成首先与它地处中原偏西 ,多战事的地域分野有关 ;其次与《秦风》中的诗歌所采用“赋”的表现手法相关 ;最后则与《秦风》诗歌中选词用语偏重色彩有关。这三方面联合起来影响了秦风的整体风格。

Because of its sad and grave style, Qing Feng is quite diffferent from others in the Fifteen Guo Feng. What accounts for this is that Qing was located in the west of the Central Plains, with frequent wars in the area. Secondly, it has something to do with the expressive device of Fu adopted in the poems of Qing Feng. Thirdly, it has something to do with the colour words used in the poems. All the three factors account for the style of Qing Feng.
