On the categories of traditional Chinese stylistics

中国传统文论的分类迥异于西方诗学。中国文论知识谱系的构型没有按照从审美到艺术再到文学的演化样式逻辑地成型和展开。其特殊性在于 :它以文类的经验性区分而非反思性区分为核心 ,建构了极为发达的文体论知识体系 ;同时 ,它又以极其精致入微的审美性。

Traditional Chinese stylistics is completely different from western poetics. The structure of Chinese stylistics does not follow the pattern, which logically develops from aesthetics to art, and then to literature. Its speciality lies in that it focuses on experiential other than reflective distinction and constructs a sophisticated knowledge system of stylistics. In the meantime, it has established a wide range of linguistic registers based on a very refined distinction with respect to aesthetics and the art of appreciation.
