由一则误译引发的思考

与《新编大学英语》配套的多本辅导丛书均有同样一则误译。文章从句法结构和语篇连贯、词汇衔接两个方面论证这是一则误译 ,再从语境方面分析这则误译产生和具有较为广泛影响的原因 。

There is a piece of mistranslation in the teachers book and in several other reference books of the textbook New College English . In this essay, the mistranslation is verified from the angle of sentence structure and the text coherence as well as the cohesion of the vocabulary. The cause of this mistranslation and its effect are analyzed. A conclusion is drawn that different interpersonal objects have different psychological effects when getting this message.
