The nature of translation makes it possible and necessary to deem 搃ntertextuality?a prominent perspective in translation studies. In this paper the interrelation between translation and intertextuality is perceived from the history of translation practice as well as the analysis of diachronic and synchronic models. The essay is composed in the hope of rendering a new dimension to translation studies.
