The education and development of mathematics have long been receiving people's attention. The relationship between mathematics and nature is summarized in terms of the relationship between ancient mathematics and the development of human society, modern mathematics and the universe, and contemporary mathematics and science & technology. Besides, the role that mathematics plays in promoting the development of human intelligence is analyzed. It is concluded that mathematics plays a great part in encouraging people to seek truth, benevolence and beauty, and in promoting the progress of human civilization and the development of human society as a whole.
