The paper points out the problems existing in the development, adoption and management of courseware material base in distance learning. Also, it discusses the superiority of realizing content management to share, exchange and issue in the courseware material base management. Content management through IBM Content Manager to courseware material base is demonstrated, and the prospect to the development of auto- content management system is proposed.
