上古汉语的双音节连词“然而”

The disyllable conjunction ran'er(然而)in Classic Chinese

"然而"最仞是指示代词"然"和连词"而"的组合,后来演变为双音节连词并沿用至今。本文证明,"然而"向双音节词的演变在上古就已经完成,具体时间应是在战国初期,此后到西汉的发展表现为数量的增加和用法的进一步成熟。

Originally,ran'er is the combination of the demonstrative pronoun ran(然)and the conjunction er(而).Later,it develops to a disyllable conjunction and has been used up to now. This paper proves that the development of ran'er from a monosyllable conjunction to a disyllable conjunction has already completed during ancient time.The exact time is in the middle of the Warring States.Thereafter,the rate of utilization increases gradually and the usage becomes more mature till Xihan Dynasty.
