The Discussion on the Relations between Gong Zizhen's Research on the Northwest Frontiers and the Books Written by Qing Government

通过考察龚自珍西北之学与清代有关西北官修书籍的关系,可以看出:清代官修书籍是今天研究龚自珍西北之学时需要考量的一个重要因素。早在嘉庆年间,龚自珍就在对清代官修西北书籍的研读中开始接触西北史地,引导他进入西北史地研究领域的人是具有十余年官书修纂经历的程同文。龚自珍在了解并参与清代官书修纂活动中,翻阅使用着官修书籍,由此进行的西北研究呈现出服务于现实的研究目的、议论时政的研究特点。

This dissertation focuses on the relations between Gong Zizhen's research on the northwest frontiers and the books written by Qing government. In the process of reading the books written by Qing government, Gong Zizhen learned the knowledge about northwest area. In the same time, Gong Zizhen was influenced by Cheng Tongwen, who had participated in government's activities of writing books. Then these materials from government's books had played an important role in his studying. So we can find the characteristics of being concerned with the current policies in his research.
