The current situation of applying dimethyl ether as a new aerosol propellant was introduced. And its composition, production technology and formulation for aerosol propellant were described in brief. Through the new example of its applications, merits of dimethyl ether used as a new aerosol propellant were demonstrated. Finally, the existing problems in using of dimethyl ether as aerosol propellant and its solutions were pointed out.
