Professional Associations in Comparative Education: A Perspective from the World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES)

本文对比较教育这一研究领域进行了简要的综合性评价,介绍了世界比较教育学会联合会这一全球组织的性质和任务。作为一些国家级比较教育学会与区域性比较教育学会的大伞,世界比较教育学会联合会成立于1970年。目前,加入世界比较教育学会联合会的国家级、次国家级、区域性以及以语言为基础的比较教育学会的总量已经发展到32个。本文概述了世界比较教育学会联合会的历史与运作模式,以及比较教育在性质上的转变。

This paper begins with some broad review about the field of comparative education. It then explains the nature and roles of the World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES) as a global organization. WCCES was established in 1970 and under this umbrella are national and regional comparative education societies. Now there are 32 societies at national, sub - national, regional and language - based areas. This paper gives general accounts of the historical patterns and the ways of operation of the WCCES. It also discusses the changes of the nature of comparative education studies.
