试论挽联的起源

On the Origination of Elegiac Couplet

挽联的源头有两个:一个是"物理起源",即它与挽歌、挽诗、挽词之间的承继关系;一个是"文化起源",是汉语言独有的表意、表形、表声形式而孕育、产生了这种非常中国化的文学样式。宋代是挽联的初始阶段,清代是挽联的成熟期。

There are two originations of elegiac couplet: one is the 'physical origination', i.e. the succession relation between elegiac couplet and elegiac song, poem and ci; another one is the 'cultural origination', i.e. the typical Chinese literary pattern been pregnant with and evolved by meaning expression, form expression and voice expression of Chinese language. Elegiac couplet started in Song Dynasty and Qing Dynasty is its mature period.
