Stepping into a new century, creating glory in the history--Congratulations to China's breakthrough in expanding its hydropower installation to 100,000 MW

随着黄河公伯峡水电站首台机组发电投产,我国水电装机容量已突破1亿kW(未含台湾省)。水电是可再生的绿色能源,水电发展具有顽强的生命力。为达到党的十六大提出的到2020年国内生产总值翻两番的目标,预计水电还将要新增装机1.5亿kW,因此需要做好充分的前期工作准备。中国的水电建设已实现历史的跨越,创世纪的辉煌。

When the first generating unit of the Gongboxia hydropower station on the Yellow River went into operation, China's hydropower installed capacity (excluding that of Taiwan province) expanded to over 100,000 MW. Hydropower is renewable green energy and its development demonstrates great vitality. It is estimated that to meet the goal of quadrupling the GDP by 2020, which was put forward during the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC), we need another 150,000 MW of hydropower installation, which requires adequate planning and pre-construction work. The hydropower construction in China has stepped into a new century and achieved glory in the history.
