略论战争与欧洲联合

War and European Union

文章认为探讨欧洲联合的动因不应仅从欧洲的同一性上,还应从战争这一角度进行分析。对此 全文分三个阶段进行了论述:一、近代战争刺激了欧洲联合思想以及各种和平计划的产生;二、第一次世界 大战使欧洲联合思想进一步发展并尝试实践;三、第二次世界大战使欧洲联合由理念物化为实体,由理想走 向现实。

This paper argues that in order to understand what gave rise to the call for European Union, one should look into not only the aspiration for the recognition of European identity, but also the practical needs as a result of the wars. The paper consists of three sections: (1)Reflections on wars in modern history gave birth to various ideas about European union and peace plans. (2) The First World War in particular paved the way for the development of these ideas and their implementation.(3) The Second World War further made possible the ultimate realization of these ideas.
