20世纪60年代以来,生态意识凸显,生态学理论向各个学科渗透。美国作为一个典型的已走过工业化和城市化的成熟阶段的发达国家,城市生态系统演变的历史有着重要的研究价值。学者们把生态学理论应用于城市史研究,结合多学科知识与成果,从不同角度和侧面研究美国城市环境演变史,使城市发展研究获得新的特色和成果。

With the increase of ecological mentality since 1960s, ecology has penetrated into other fields of studies.America is a developed country which has completed the mature stage of industrialization and urbanization.Its urban ecological system evolution has of great value of inference and academic study.Scholars applied ecological theories to urban studies,with knowledge and accomplishments from multiple- disciplines,and conducted researches from different perspectives,and have added new features and accomplishments to urban development studies.
