摘要
为了准确可靠地将指纹图像从背景区域中分割出来,提出了一种新的指纹图像分割方法,即利用灰度值频数和纹线12方向图判断是否有指纹脊线和谷线的存在,从而判断指纹图像小块是否为指纹前景区。实验结果表明,该方法适用于由于采集原因造成的指纹脊线和谷线灰度值相差较大或不大的指纹图像的分割,分割结果只求出指纹图像的边界而不改变指纹图。
A new algorithm for fingerprint image segmentation is presented in order to segment the fingerprint image from the background accurately.That is using the frequency of graydegree and the 12direction of the fingerprint image to judge whether the ridge and vale exist,thus judge whether it is the fingerprint image foreground areas.The experiment results show that this algorithm can segment the foreground and background for the big difference or little difference of fingerprint image ridge and vale accurately.It can segment the verge of the fingerprint image only,but not to change the image.
