Cultural Differences of “Blue” in Chinese and English Translation

语言是文化的反映 ,翻译是跨文化的桥梁。汉英语言中存在着较大的文化差异 ,其中颜色词的文化差异极易导致东西方人理解的误区。本文主要探讨了“蓝色”的文化差异及其翻译的问题 ,力图实现汉英民族不同文化的交流和渗透。

Language is an important part of culture, which directly reflects culture; and translation is indeed a bridge between different cultures. People from different cultural backgrounds may have difficulties in understanding cultural differences caused by color terms. The paper mainly studies cultural differences of “blue” and how to deal with them in Chinese and English translation, in order that communication can be achieved by means of such kind of translation.
